Studio portrait of Second Lieutenant (2Lt) Russell Walker Grant, 25th Battalion, of Lutwyche, Brisbane, Queensland. A manager of a hardware warehouse prior to his enlistment, he embarked with the 12th Reinforcements on HMAT Mooltan from Sydney, NSW, on 12 April 1916. He was killed in action during a daylight attack at Flers on 15 November 1916, aged 38 years.
