Webley Mk VI Revolver
Description
Webley Mark VI top-break six shot revolver with hinged frame and automatic case extraction. The revolver is made from ordnance steel and has had all of the bluing removed by polishing. The revolver has black checkered plastic grips and a lanyard ring attached to the pistol grip. The frame of the revolver is marked with Webley ciphers and dated 1917. Markings - WEBLEY MARK VI PATENTS 1917. There are additional proof house markings and military acceptance stamps including broad arrow marks.
History / Summary
This revolver was offerred to the Australian War Memorial through the New South Wales Police Service firearms amnesty in 2001 and belonged to the deceased estate of Mr Hearne who saw service with Z Special forces during the Second World War.
