Treganowan, Rupert Henry (Sapper, d.1952)
Collection relating to Sapper Rupert Henry Treganowan who served as a signaler with the Australian Light Horse. Collection includes a handwritten description of a bomb rain in the Jordan Valley, August 1918; a letter written by his mother Amy, Bendigo 1918, describing the birthday box she is sending him; a letter from Glayds Wills enclosing socks; two christmas cards for 1917 and an Alexandria Sporting Club races program with some handwritten notations, 25 August 1917. Added to the collection in 2004 is a typescript of the letters Sapper Treganowan wrote home to his family, titled 'A soldier Writes Home, May 1917- July 1919', compiled by his daughter Nancy Brown. The original letters are held by the State Library of Victoria at MS BOX 3406/4.
