Description
Papers of 33868 Air Gunner Cecil Colin Cawley, 460 Squadron. Included is Cawley's RAAF logbook covering 1944-1945. It notes the dates of the flights, the aircraft type, the pilot, the length of the flight and a brief comment on the mission. Cawley flew in Vickers Wellingtons and Avro Lancasters, conducting air raids on targets including Cologne, Berlin and Bremen. Other papers include a magazine cutting of a picture of bombs dropping over Cologne, 'Bombs Away: Last RAF Raid on Cologne', a newspaper cutting with a picture of Wing Commander Michael Cowan and a 460 Squadron Special Memorial Trophy Bulletin from 1954.
