Miniature torch : Able Seaman Medic Rowbottom, HMAS Darwin
Description
White plastic disposable miniature pen torch used by Able Seaman Medic Rowbottom aboard HMAS Darwin. A chromed metal pen clip is pushed down against a contact to light the cylindrical torch, which has a small inset bulb at one end. The torch was stored in the pen pocket on the left hand sleeve of Rowbottom's overalls (REL31426.001).
History / Summary
Miniature torch carried by Able Seaman Medic Rowbottom aboard HMAS Darwin during the war on Iraq. Rowbottom's duties included instruction in the self-administration of anti nerve agent drugs and the vaccination of crew members against anthrax.
