Description
Turkish Cavalry Trooper's Sword Leather Frog. The frog is made from brown steer hide and has the leather loops stitched on with cotton thread. The leather belt loops are complete and have adjustable steel fasteners. The frog has been repaired at some stage to replace broken stitiching.
History / Summary
The leather frog is attached to the sword and scabbard which was given to Trooper Charles Vernon Fergusson, 1st Light Horse Regiment, when he offered aid to a wounded Turkish soldier while serving in the Middle East Campaign in 1915.
