Description

Rusted, four armed anti cavalry caltrop. When sown, at least one spike will always face upwards. These weapons were used to disrupt cavalry charges by injuring the horses.

History / Summary

This caltrop was recovered from Avenue Farm near Messines on the Western Front in 1917.
