Knee pad : 4 Battalion (Commando), Royal Australian Regiment
Black synthetic knee pad well covered with a field applied painted camouflage on the outer side, in light green and ochre colours. The outer side is a hard plastic shell, which is attached to the inner padded section by six large rivets. The padded section is also black synthetic and has field applied camouflage on the outer side, with two elasticised straps for attachment of pad to wearer's knee. Straps are sewn to one side of the padding and fastened to other side via plastic loops. They are adjustable with lengths of velcro. The upper strap is no longer attached to the padding. A maker's label is attached to the inner side.
Issued to members of 4 Battalion (Commando), Royal Australian Regiment (4 RAR (CDO)) during the war against Iraq, 2003.
