Studio portrait of John and Anne Slater. 7950 Sergeant John Slater served with the Armoured Car Company, Federated Malay States Volunteer Force. He was a Prisoner of War in Changi, as well as other camps in Thailand while working on the Burma Thailand Railway. In 1950 he was awarded a medal for his services during the war. The Memorial also holds a collection of Private Records in the Research Centre relating to Sgt Slater's service at PR03294.
