Other Ranks stone grey woollen trousers : German Army
German Army Other Ranks pair of private purchase stone grey (steingrau) woollen trousers (tuchhose) with scarlet piping in the outside seam of both legs. There is a pocket with a buttoned diagonal slit opening in the front of both hips, and a pocket for a fob watch in the front right side. It has a small tape loop above it. The concealed buttons on the fly are made from brown plastic and the ones on the waistband for braces are made from grey pressed alloy metal. 'G R S' is impressed in the reverse of some of the buttons on the waistband. Across the back of the waistband, from side seam to side seam, is a buckled tape adjustment strap. The civilian tailor's label, which is mostly indecipherable, and '110 / 76 84 / 109 116(?)' are stamped in purple inside the front left hand side of the waistband. 'W M' has been written in black nearby.
