Description
Portuguese infantry private's blue grey unlined wool tunic. The loose fitting jacket has short side vents, a stand collar, shoulder straps, a fly front fastening with concealed celluloid buttons, and two expanding breast pockets with pointed flaps and a single celluloid button. There is a fabric tab that fastens with a button on each side seam, to support a belt. Two similar buttons are sewn at waist level on both of the back seams. There is an expanding pocket, with a flap that closes with a lace, inside the right front, to take a field dressing. Each side of the collar bears a black cloth badge of crossed rifles.
