The same style of brown plastic button is also used on the breast pockets, shoulder straps and cuffs. The sleeves have been rolled up to the elbow and starched to form a permanent short sleeve. Below the shoulder on the right hand sleeve is an embroidered 28 Commonwealth Brigade patch, featuring the Queen's crown and the word 'COMMONWEALTH' on a light and dark blue background. Under this are markings where a rank chevron has been removed. The left hand upper sleeve has several holes and markings where a similar chevron has been removed, and an embroidered 'AUSTRALIAN MILITARY FORCES' Rising Sun badge in gold, red and black cotton on an olive green background. The two breast patch pockets are pleated and have button flap closures. The waist pockets are unpleated have large unsecured flaps. An external belt forms an integral part of the back of the jacket, but the loose ends have been cut off at the side seams. A green cotton label stitched under the right hand waist pocket reads: 'JACKETS BUSH GREEN Size No. 7' Below this are further size details, the manufacturer's marking 'POLIKOFF LTD', a Broad Arrow, and the date '1952'.
