Shell case photograph frame : Private J C Arney, Corps of Australian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers 16 Brigade AIF
Photograph display frame consisting of a pair of polished 2 pounder shell cases mounted vertically on a scalloped brass base which is screwed to a 25 mm thick varnished wooden base with matching scallops. A shaped oval brass frame is mounted between the two cases in a manner that allows is to pivot horizontally. The frame and base appear to be fashioned from an 18 pounder case. The caps for the base mounting screws are shortened 9 mm rounds. The unit comes with a thick brass oval casting, slightly larger than the frame cutout, designed to secure a photograph in the frame.
