Wedding portrait of 3845 Private (Pte) William Henry Kane, 1st Battalion and Emma Provost. They were married at the Anglican Vicarage (Church of England) at Macksville NSW on 30 July 1919. Pte Kane enlisted on 15 July 1915 and embarked with the 12th Reinforcements, 2nd Battalion, on 30 December 1915. He was transferred to the 1st Battalion on 3 June 1916. Pte Kane was wounded twice, once in the left leg in July 1916 and the second time August 1918 when he received a gun shot wound to the right side. He was awarded the Military Medal (MM) in August 1918.
