2183954 Corporal (Cpl) Robert Bruce (Robbie) Cameron, 7th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (7RAR), is silhouetted against the setting sun at Fire Support Base (FSB) Anne as he plays the lament, 'Flowers of the Forest', on his bagpipes. Throughout 7RAR's tour of duty in 1970-71, it was the custom to play the haunting tune whenever any soldier of the battalion was killed in action or died of wounds. Cpl Cameron is playing the lament at dusk on the day that 2257880 Private Ronald Keith Smith was killed in action during Operation Finschhafen.
