Studio portrait of 7441 Private Percy Vernon Barr, his wife Clara and daughter Frances May, taken just prior to his embarkation for overseas service. Pte Barr enlisted in the 14th Battalion on 25 June 1917 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Nestor on 21 November 1917. Her was wounded in action on 18 September 1918 and returned to Australia on 2 January 1919.
