General officers grey woollen trousers : German Army
Description
German Army general officer's stone grey (steingrau) woollen trousers (tuchhose). Two wide and one thin central scarlet stripes run down the outside seam of both legs. There is a pocket with a vertical slit opening in the top of the side seam on both hips. The concealed buttons on the fly, and the ones on the inside of the waistband for braces, are made from ferrous metal. They have an dazzling shiny cobalt blue finish and are impressed with 'BESTE QUALITAT'. Across the back of the waistband is a tape adjustment strap with a buckle. A pair of button-holed black leather instep straps are fitted to both of the leg cuffs.
