Imperial Japanese Army Other Ranks Revised 45 Pattern pair of khaki woollen winter service dress trousers. There are khaki cotton webbing ties around the waist and at the ankles. The concealed fly has green celluloid buttons. A pocket has been let into the side seam over each hip. There are narrow red braid stripes down the outer legs. There is a short vent in the side seam at the leg cuffs. Printed inside the left front panel is a maker's label indicating that the jacket is a 'Revised 45 Pattern', meaning that the pattern was introduced in the 45th year of the Meiji Era, which was 1912; that the jacket was made in the 7th year of the Taisho Era, which was 1918; and that it was 'Certified Main Depot'. A purple oval shaped marking on the other side of the pocket lining indicates the place of manufacture or inspection, which is Kusakabe.
