Officers M.1915 Pattern field grey woollen Bluse jacket : Infanterie-Regiment, German Army
German Army Infantry leutnant's (lieutenant's) M.1915 Pattern field grey woollen Bluse jacket. This single breasted jacket has a stand and fall collar with double litzen on both sides. The collar also has a single band of Bavarian blue and white diamond checked pattern woven braid down the front edge of both flaps. The collar can be fastened with three pairs of ferrous hook and eye fittings. The six brown plastic buttons on the front of the jacket are concealed. On the left front panel there is a pair of small thread loops to support a decoration. A pocket that has a button-down flap, which slopes downward from the front to the back, has been let into both hips. The single metal buttons on the pockets are painted field grey and bear the Prussian crown. The braid cord shoulder straps have white coloured edging (denoting infantry units), except where each is sewn into the jacket at the shoulder seam. A black and white thread is interwoven into the cord indicating that the wearer was in a Prussian unit. They are held down on the inward end by metal buttons that are painted field grey and bear the Prussian crown. The sleeve cuffs are turned back 150mm. There are two field grey metal alloy clasps that imitate buttons above the 300mm vent in the skirt at the back. The body of the jacket is lined with blue and white striped cotton, and the sleeves with black and white gingham. A pocket, with a single button on the opening, has been let into the lining of the right breast. Stamped in black ink near the second buttonhole inside the left front panel is an indecipherable maker's mark. Below this, adjacent to the third buttonhole, is 41 / 96 43 / 86 61'. A pocket with a vertical slit opening has been let into the lining behind the maker's marks.
