Port 'Wikingerschiff' bomb pylon : Messerschmitt Me 262-A2 Fighter Aircraft
Description
Lozenge shaped aluminium bomb rack, painted light grey with electrical fittings. This type of bomb pylon was used to carry a single 250 kilogram aerial bomb.
History / Summary
The Me262 in the collection of the Memorial is the only remaining example of a fighter-bomber version of the Me262 in the world. This pylon was one of two attached to the underside of the fuselage which carried the bomb load.
