Amaryllis lily
Description
Depicts a detailed botanical study of the Amaryllis lily in bloom, with two flowers . This flower was often used to decorate the hospital wards. Shizu Ueki was a Japanese nurse who worked as a civilian nurse with the 8th Naval Hospital in Rabaul, New Guinea from 1942-43. She presented a photo album containing photographs, pencil and watercolour sketches and pressed flower specimens to the War Memorial in 2001.
