Home movie relating to the service of Major Brian McFarlane
Description
7 reels relating to 25632 Major Brian William McFarlane's deployment with C Company 6 RAR to Nui Dat, Vietnam in 1966-1967. McFarlane was part of the 1st Australian Task Force in mid-1966 during its occupation of Nui Dat, Phuoc Tuy Province, South Vietnam. After commanding Charlie Company, he became battalion second-in-command later in the tour. This was the first of two of McFarlane's deployments to Vietnam, the second being 1970-71. Includes; pre-embarkation parade through a city street, camp activities, camp entertainment, recreation, airstrikes, artillery, life in Vietnam and Vietnamese ceremonies.
