An unidentified crewmember of HMAS Platypus holds a young Dutch child with one of the wooden toys (a pull along dog) made in the ship’s carpenters' workshop on the deck in front of them. The child was one of the recently released Dutch nationals who had been prisoners of war (POWs) of the Japanese at Ambon.
