Iraq election poster (intertwined hands above map of Iraq)

Iraq election poster depicts a map of a united Iraq with two hands, in a handshake, floating above the map. The text and imagery are associated with Ghazi al-Yawar’s campaign. Ghazi Mashal Ajil al- Yawar was president of the interim Iraqi government, heading the Iraqi Party between May 2004 and April 2005. The text translates as Iraqis and justice is our goal / Iraqis and security is our mettle. The text also reads list 225, which was that of Ghazi Mashal Ajil al- Yawar. The poster was obtained by an Australian Defence Force member, serving with 'Operation Catalyst', Australia's contribution to the rehabilitation and reconstruction of Iraq, which began in July 2003.
