Studio portrait of Private (Pte) QX19536 Eric (Ike) Schuhmacher, 26 Battalion. He enlisted from Brisbane, Qld on 2 June 1941. Pte Schumacher transferred to the 2/30th Battalion in late January 1942. He was taken prisoner of war (POW) by the Japanese and died of illness on 21 July 1943, aged 40.
