Studio portrait of Gladys Pavitt, Australian Womens' Legion (AWL). Miss Pavitt is wearing the uniform and forage cap of this patriotic voluntary organisation whose members trained in many skills including transport driving, first aid, air raid precautions (ARP) and signalling. At the time of the photograph Miss Pavitt was a driver and ARP officer with the 1st Victorian Division of the League. Her uniform and cap are held in the National Collection at the Australian War Memorial.
