Studio portrait of 245 Private (Pte) James Lynn Bowman, 26th Battalion, of Brisbane, Qld, originally of Greenock, Scotland. A baker prior to enlisting on 25 April 1915, he embarked from Brisbane, Qld, aboard HMAT Ascanius on 24 May 1915. He was killed in action at Mouquet Farm, France, on 5 August 1916, aged 23.
