Studio portrait of 4175 Corporal Albert Alexander Currie, 59th Battalion, of Tocumwal, NSW. A hairdresser prior to enlisting on 21 July 1915, he embarked from Melbourne, NSW, aboard HMAT Demosthenes on 29 December 1915. He was killed in action on 12 December 1916 at Geudecourt Le Transloy in the Somme, France, aged 23.
