Description
Pair of ankle socks hand knitted from cream and red cotton 'string'. Cream socks are knitted in stocking stitch with open work insteps. The top of each sock is knitted in cream ribbing surmounted by a band of red ribbing.
History / Summary
Socks made by VX5878 Captain Wilma Oram while she was a prisoner of war of the Japanese on Sumatra using kniitng needles she improvised from fencing wire.
