Hand knitted vest : Captain W E F Oram, 13 Australian General Hospital
Description
Woman's hand knitted, rust coloured sleeveless vest made from cotton 'string'. Body of vest is knitted in moss stitch while the neck and armhole edges, and basque, are ribbed.
History / Summary
Knitted by VX5878 Captain Wilma Oram while she was a prisoner of war in Sumatra, using needles made from fencing wire taken from the camp fence.
