Description

Studio portrait of 406712 Sergeant (Sgt) Norman Baxter 'Nobby' Clark, No 32 Squadron, RAAF, of Subiaco, WA. Sgt Clark enlisted in Perth, WA, on 31 March 1941. He was killed on 4 November 1942, aged 21, when his Lockheed Hudson aircraft (A16-173), crashed into Bong Bong Mountain near Dapto, NSW, as it was returning from a reconnaissance mission to investigate a report of an enemy submarine. The three other crew members, 401037 Flight Sergeant Bernard James 'Bluey' Hubbard, 412187 Sergeant (Sgt) Geoffrey Alfred Rich, and 408580 Sgt Joseph Hall Iredell were also killed.
