Description
Group portrait including Jane Harriot Bray (front) and June Picton (later Lloyd, back right) in the Women's Australian National Services (WANS) uniform. Bray of Kogarah, NSW, was a member of the Kogarah Branch of the WANS which trained and organised women for 'war work', including land work, fire fighting, mobile and hospital canteen cooking, transport, social services, wireless telegraphy, and other similar services. Bray joined the WANS early in the war (possibly 1939) and also served with the Kogarah Fire Brigade.
