Studio portrait of 3161 Private Lionel Sidney Roderick McDonald, 2nd Battalion. A railway porter of Glen Innes, New South Wales, he enlisted on 5 August 1915 and embarked from Sydney with the 10th Reinforcements aboard HMAT Warilda on 8 October 1915. He was killed in action on 19 July 1916 at Fleurbaix, France, aged 29, whilst serving with the 54th Battlalion.
