Gilded cuff links and tie pin : S F Cave
Description
Pair of gilded silver cuff links, each with an engraved shield hanging from a short chain and bar. The shields are engraved with a decorative pattern with the initials 'SC'. The backs of the shields are impressed '9CT SILVER LINE'. The gold plated tie pin has two decorative twists in the centre.
History / Summary
Gilded silver cufflinks and tie pin associated with Sidney Frederick Cave. They were worn by Cave in the 1930s when he was a champion ballroom dancer. Born on 10 December 1912 in Northampton, England, Cave enlisted into the RAAF on 11 October 1941 and served as Flight Lieutenant with 194 Squadron RAF, based in India and Burma . He was discharged on 3 June 1946.
