Mon arrivèe in Albert! [My arrival in Albert]
Description
Depicts a fashionable woman, replete with black hat and fur-cuffed winter coat, leaning over a train carriage door to open it. Albert is a French town in the Somme region, located between Amiens and Bapaume. Albert was first bombed and later captured by the Germans in March 1918 during the Spring Offensive. In August, they were forced to retreat and Albert remained in British control until the end of the war. At the bottom of the leaf is a small pencil sketch of a tank on a terrain with a felled tree and plane approaching from the rear.
