Sketchbook of France 1917-18
Description
Sketchbook comprising of 80 leaves and 9 compositions, three on double leaves. Most illustrations are signed and dated 1917-18 with French captions. Full calf note book is blind stamped (some wear) with gilt dentelles and silk endpapers. Most illustrations are signed E Rowe, except for one page which has the inscription 'F E Thellusson / 1918'. This could be a reference to the subject's name, but two subsequent sketches are initialled F.E.T.
