Informal portrait of NX28567 Private (Pte) Thomas Joseph Abberton, of Forbes, NSW. Enlisting in the Second AIF in June 1940, Pte Abberton served in the Pacific campaign with the 2/13th Battalion. He died of disease in New Guinea on 29 February 1944, aged 34.
