Studio portrait of 660 Private (Pte) (later Corporal) Henry Brier Pearson, 17th Battalion, of Randwick, NSW. Born in New Zealand, he came to Australia at the age of 20 and worked as a letter carrier before enlisting on 25 February 1915. Pte Pearson embarked from Sydney on HMAT Themistocles on 12 May 1915 with B Company. On 4 September 1918 he died of wounds sustained at Corbie, France. He was 27 years old.
