Officer's winter mess dress jacket : Lieutenant Colonel, Australian Army Medical Corps
Description
Australian Army Medical Corps (AAMC) officer's black wool cloth waist length mess jacket with dull cherry red wool facings (shawl collar and pointed cuffs). There are gilded brass AAMC collar badges attached to each lapel with split pins. Dull cherry shoulder straps are attached to the neck with gilded brass Australian Military Forces buttons and bear gilded brass and enamel rank insignia for a lieutenant colonel. Two small embroidered bars on the left lapel are intended to support miniature medals when worn. The body of the jacket is lined with black polished cotton; the sleeves with white cotton. There is an internal breast pocket set into the proper left lining.
