Pre-enlistment studio portrait of Albert Jacobson. A native of Bridgetown, WA, Jacobson worked as a wheelwright prior to enlisting with the 1st AIF on 19 April 1916. 5882 Pte Jacobson embarked with the 16th Reinforcements, 28th Battalion from Fremantle aboard HMAT Suffolk on 13 October 1916. While serving with his unit in France, Pte Jacobson was killed in action at Warlencourt on 26 March 1917, aged 33. His name is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France.
