Studio portrait of NX13370 Private (Pte) Mark Strong, 2/2 Battalion, of Corndale, NSW. A butter maker and churner in civilian life, Pte Strong enlisted on 26 April 1940. Following a series of promotions Strong achieved the rank of lieutenant. He was later killed in action in Papua on 21 November 1942, aged 27.
