Description
An upper torso and head portrait of Sapper Herbert Black (service no. 21921) in left profle wearing uniform with hat, and a cigarette in his mouth. An incomplete portrait below indicates an elderly man wearing glasses.
This sketch was made when the artist was on board HMAT RUNIC, a passenger vessel which travelled between Sydney and London from 22 March 1918 to 24 May 1918.
