Studio portrait of 428 Sergeant (Sgt) Albert Ernest Masters, 6th Machine Gun Company (later 2nd Machine Gun Battalion), (left), of Mirboo South, Vic, and 2893 Sgt Charles Henry Masters, 8th Battalion, of Dandenong, Vic. Charles Henry Masters was awarded the Military Medal (MM) on 22 October 1918 and the Distinguished Conduct Medal (DCM) on 3 June 1919 for "conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty at Herbville Wood on 23 August 1918". Albert Ernest Masters returned to Australia on 11 December 1918, and Charles Henry Masters returned to Australia on 15 January 1919.
