Group portrait of Headquarters staff of the 8th Australian Field Artillery Brigade outside their dugouts near Blangy Tronville, France during the period the 3rd Division was holding the line at Villers-Bretonneux. From left to right, back row: Lieutenant (Lt) George Lawton Mayman from Brunswick, Victoria; Lt John Brake, Ordinance Officer from Mount Albert, Victoria; and Second Lieutenant Roderick George McLeod from Gladstone, Queensland (later awarded MC). Front row: Lt Edward Griffith, Adjutant from Brisbane, Queensland (later awarded Belgian Croix de Guerre); Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) William Gillian Allsop CMG DSO, Commanding Officer from Brisbane, Queensland; Captain Fritz Peter Max Solling MC, Medical Officer from Moree, NSW.
