Description

Souvenir playbill produced during the First World War. This photographic copy of a playbill, written in German, is for a comedy in three acts entitled 'Erziehung Zur Ehe [Education for Marriage]' and was written by O.E. Hartleben. It was performed at the Deutsches Theatre in the Trial-Bay internee camp on the 9 and 11 December 1916. The playbill is illustrated with two boxes, inside one is a man washing is clothes alone beside a high brick wall. In the other box is the same man, hanging out his clothes on a clothes line in front of a garden surrounded by his family.
