Description
Souvenir playbill produced during the First World War. This photographic copy of a playbill, written in German, is for a comedy in three acts entitled 'Die selige Exzellenz [The Blessed Excellence]' and was written by R. Fresber and L. Stein. The performance was held at Deutsches Theatre in Trial Bay Interrment camp between 10 and 11 September 1917. The playbill is illustrated with a ghostly apparition weighed down by a ball and chain making its way towards an open prison door.
