Tranch's Christmas Pudding
Description
Embroidered silk postcard made in France during the First World War. This postcard, an envelope design, features a soldier in the trenches being visited by an angel who has brought a Christmas pudding. There are Christmas trees on either side of the trench structure. The small card insert has an illustration of a balcony scene with the message "Remembrance of France". (As the French word for trench was 'Tranchee', the title may be a misspelling of the word 'trench'.)
