Outdoor portrait of NX30261 Private Clifford Haist, 2/12th Field Ambulance, and his mother on his return to Sydney on 6 November 1945. Pte Haist enlisted in 1940 and trained in Darwin before embarking for overseas service in early 1942. He was taken prisoner of war in Timor and interned in Thailand by the Japanese.
