Studio portrait of 4104 Private Robert George Mills, 3rd Battalion of Granville, NSW, brother of 2582 Private Frank Mills, (killed in action on 22 July 1916, see P08624.083). An apprentice boilermaker prior to enlisting, he embarked from Sydney aboard the HMAT Medic (A7) on 30 December 1915. He died in France on 25 December 1916 of wounds received in action at Flers, France, aged 20. He is buried in Guards' Cemetery Lesboeufs, France.
