Studio portrait of 932 Private (later Lieutenant) William Urwin Clasper, 13th Battalion of Woolahra, NSW. An engineer prior to enlisting, he embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Ulysses (A38) on 24 December 1914. He was wounded in action (for the second time) on 11 April 1917 at Bullecourt, France and died of these wounds on 21 April 1917 at No 8 General Hospital, Rouen, France, aged 32. He is buried in the Godewaersvelde British Cemetery, France.
